Introduction
Owning a lot in the games category not only allows you to purchase special objects like slot machines and roulette tables, you also gain the potential to make a lot (or loose a lot depending on how well you manage your casino) of money. While slot machines and roulette tables are the main draws to this category, many players also use some of the other smaller games objects to create their own kind of casino games. Objects such as The Randomaticon or the Carducopia Card Game can be used to add to a visitor's casino experience. Now before you begin to build your casino, remember you will have to switch your property category to 'Games' if you have not already done so. Visit our Property Categories guide if you are unsure on how to do this.
Slot Machines
The five Slot Machines are all single-player objects which come in three coin values: §1, §5, §10, §25 and §100.

Anyone can play the slots, but only the owner can manage them. The owner is responsible for stocking the machine with enough funds to cover all potential payouts and can profit from any money that is not paid out to players.
Slot Machines: Player
To play the Slot Machines, click on the machine you would like to use and select the 'Play' option. This will bring up a special Slot Machine control panel. Click on the Slot Machine handle graphic or the curved arrow button in the lower right corner of the control panel to set the wheels in motion.
When each wheel stops, it will either show a symbol or a blank on the pay line. Once all wheels have stopped, the game will compare the symbols on the pay line against the payout table and pay the listed amount. You can see a legend of the winning combinations and the corresponding payout table by clicking on the 'up arrow' button on the upper left corner of the Slot Machine dialog box. To win, your pay line must match the exact sequence shown in the payout table.
To raise or lower the amount of money you are putting into the machine, simply click on the up and down arrows next to the betting window. The more money you bet, the more money you can win. You can only raise or lower the bet by the Slot Machine's value. (i.e. If you are playing the §5 slots, you can only raise or lower your bet by §5.). You can bet up to 5 coins per spin, so a §5 Slot Machine would allow a maximum bet per round of §25.

Winning at Slots

After each round, depending on whether you win or lose, Simoleons will automatically be credited or debited from your cash on hand.
Slot Machines: Owner
To manage your Slot Machine, click on the machine and select the 'Manage' option. This will bring up a different control panel that will allow you to do a number of things.
Turn the object on or off: Click the radio button to make this Slot Machine available or unavailable or others to play.
Cash In/Out: As an owner you are responsible for maintaining a minimum balance of funds in the machine to cover any potential winnings by players. Click this button to deposit money into the machine or withdraw any of the current balance into your personal bank account. Machines that do not have the minimum balance will not be available for visitors to play.
Set The Odds: As the owner of a Slot Machine, you have the option of setting the odds to favor either the player or the house. You can set the overall payouts by entering a number between 80 and 110. This value represents the overall percentage of bets that will be paid back to players as winnings over time. For example, in the long run, a machine set at 95 will pay back 95% of all bets to players (leaving 5% for the owner). If you choose a number lower than 100, the odds will be set in your favor. Choosing a number over 100 will set the odds in the player's favor. (Standard Vegas payouts are 95%, but many casinos have some 'loose machines' that are designed to pay out a bit more frequently to attract players.) Keep in mind that these are simply statistical odds, and no amount of random sampling will verify these rates. A machine set to pay out 95% of bets may not pay out at all for 1,000 bets in a row -- or could pay out 100 times straight. It's not likely, but it could happen.
To set the odds on your machine, click on the slider and drag it to the desired position between the player and the house. An in-game tool tip will inform you what percentage the slider is on at any given time. A mouse-over on the current position of the slider will also display the payout percentage.
As in real life, Slot Machine players will not be able to tell how the odds are set.
Roulette Table: Player
To play Roulette, simply click on the table you would like to join and select 'Play Roulette: §10-§100' (Note: the monetary range displayed next to the 'Play Roulette' option reflects the maximum and minimum bets for the table, which is set by the owner of the object.) This option will not be available if the player does not have enough money to cover at least a single bet of the proper denomination.
The game starts after the first player has joined the table. This will bring up a special Roulette control panel that will allow you to place your bets.

Roulette Play Panel

You may join the Roulette table at any time but cannot place a bet until the beginning of the next round. A round in the game is divided into 3 time periods:
  • Betting
  • Spinning
  • Collect Winnings
Betting Period
The betting period lasts approximately forty-five seconds and is counted down in the timer on the top right corner of the Roulette Control Panel. A text prompt will tell you when it is time to Place Your Bets! During the betting period you may place as many bets on the table as you would like, as long as the amount bet is equal to or less than the Maximum Bet set for the table.
To place a bet, simply click on one of the chips on the upper left corner of the Roulette Control Panel and then click on the part of the table on which you would like to place your bet. Chips come in the following denominations. §1, §5, §10, §25, §100. You may place your bet on a betting area (such as red or black) or on a specific number. You can also place bets on the grid lines that separate 2 or 4 numbers.
You can only place one chip at a time but you can place multiple chips by clicking repeatedly. Money will not come out of your account until you have placed your bet.
Betting Tips: Inside Bets
  • A bet on any number, including 0 and 00, pays 35-1.
  • A 'Split' bet (i.e. a bet that is placed on the line between 2 numbers) pays 17-1.
  • A 'Street' (i.e. a bet that is placed on the line between 3 numbers), pays 11-1.
  • A 'Square' bet (i.e. a bet that is placed on the line between 4 numbers) pays 8-1.
  • The 'five number bet' wins on 1, 2, 3, 0 or 00. It pays 6-1.
  • The 'line' bet on six numbers pays 5-1.
Betting Tips: Outside Bets
  • Betting on which row or which third of the board the ball will land on pays 2-1.
  • All other outside bets (i.e. black/red or even/odd) pays even odds, 1-1.
Show All Bets
If you would like to see where other players have placed their bets, you can do so by clicking on and holding down the 'Show all Bets' button which features an icon of an eye and a betting chip. This button can be found on the lower right corner of the Roulette Control Panel.
Spinning
Once the wheel begins to spin the text prompt will read, 'Spinning. No More Bets' and the bet controls will board grey out. The Croupier will then spin the wheel. After approximately five seconds, the marble will drop into a number corresponding with one on the betting table.
Collect Winnings
After the spin period, all winning bets are highlighted and losing bets are removed from the table. If there are any bets on the table that correspond to the number, color, etc., the marble landed on, the winning player(s) will be paid based on the payout value X the amount they bet. It is possible for a player to win more than one bet (splits, odd/even, red/black, etc.)
Roulette Table: Owner
To open your Roulette Table, click on the table and select the 'Manage' then 'Open' option. If your Roulette Table does not contain the minimum balance needed to cover any player winnings, the 'Open' option will not be available.
To manage your Roulette Table, click on the table and select the 'Manage' option twice. This will bring up a panel that will allow you to do a number of things.

Cash In/Out: As an owner you are responsible for maintaining a minimum balance of funds in the Roulette Table to cover any potential winnings by players. Click this button to deposit money into the table or withdraw any of the current balance into your personal bank account. Tables that do not have the minimum balance will not be available for visitors to play. The minimum balance needed for the Roulette Table varies based on the maximum bet you have set.
Min Bet: This allows you to enter the minimum amount a player can bet at any given time. This value must be lower than your maximum bet.
Max Bet: This allows you to enter the maximum amount a player can bet at any given time, up to §1000.
